For five years, I rode the #8 Big Blue Bus every morning to work as an early childhood educator. My collection of haiku inspired poems, being a very
small place, originated in my pocket notebooks and classroom index cards. They chronicle my excitement or dread of going to work and the vocal musings of fellow transit passengers, students, and staff. These poems remain as internal snapshots of both my daily life and a portrait of Los Angeles during a very specific time frame.
